Launching NorTex AI Experts
A small Denton-based shop, a new DBA, and the philosophy behind how we want to do consulting.
Today we filed the NorTex AI Experts DBA for Ascentia Tech Solutions LLC — the legal entity that’s been doing this work for a while. Same team, same engagements, new public-facing name that better reflects what we actually do and where we do it (North Texas).
Why the rename
The original Ascentia Tech Solutions brand bumped into a name-similarity issue with a much larger company. Rather than spend a startup’s worth of time defending it, we let it go and used the moment to pick something more specific. “NorTex AI Experts” says where we are and what we do.
What we do, briefly
Three practice areas:
- Data engineering & analytics — pipelines, warehouses, dashboards that give small and mid-sized businesses a real operational view of themselves.
- AI & ML consulting — production LLM features for real workflows, with eval and reliability treated as first-class problems, not afterthoughts.
- Custom software — internal tools, web apps, and integrations built to fit the shape of how a business actually runs.
If your problem maps to any of those, tell us about it.
What we won’t do
A few things we’ve decided are off the table:
- Fabricated case studies. Every customer we list is real, current, and verifiable. We’d rather have a short customer list than a fake long one.
- Sales-to-engineering handoffs. The person you talk to in a discovery call is the same person who writes the SQL.
- Lock-in by obscurity. When a project ends, you get documented code and infrastructure your team can run without us.
More writing here as we ship things worth writing about.
